Women are vulnerable to attacks, especially if they are alone. Single moms are frequently attacked or subject to a break in simply because the attacker knows they are alone and defenseless. This is the time frame the women should leave the area and call for help. Another weapon is pepper spray and quite a few women carry it in their purse or in their car. However, it really should be kept close to the body like in a pocket for easy access at all times. There is no point having a weapon if you aren’t able to access it easily. Finally, women may consider a stun baton to protect themselves. A stun baton allows the woman to put distance between herself and her attacker while still protecting herself.
